two years ago approx i threw out 23 odd socks,i laid them to one side hoping the other 23 would make an appearance after 12months they went in the bin.this month i have just counted ,16 odd socks all waiting for the other foot to appear,so far no sign.my wife said wash the bloody things your self then,i do wash my own gear and they are all pairs,until she takes em out and they bloody disappear.when i chastised her about such ,she disappeared.

I am just in the midst of trying to sort my missus's socks out. Like shoes she never had enough socks. Found a large bag full up to press just scratching the surface, once they are all collected then the mammoth task will be to pair them up even though 90% will probably end up in a charity bin. I also have started to sort her tights out any which she as used will be thrown out any unopened packs will go to a charity shop. If any one is wondering the missus is very much alive but due to her disabilities (stroke) she only has a limited use of her right arm/leg so really struggles with tights and even socks are hard work to get on. We decided to get rid of things she cannot use on a daily bases

I must have found at least 100 socks and i have saved two baggy pairs and given 4 new pairs away the rest I bagged up and put in a charity skip The wife struggled to get socks on even when I was putting them on her feet for her. No flexibility with her right foot so it was very hard to get socks on her

Why are you all so averse to wearing odd socks, especially if only colour is different?

Should anyone criticise my choice of odd socks, I tell them, "They are not that uncommon, I have another pair just like them at home".
